DECEMBER 22, 2010, WEDNESDAY...

T3? What does T3 stand for?
T3 :: (Trailers, TRON and Taters)

Today we had a very 'makulit' trip. We headed out to Walter Mart in Pasong Tamo, Makati and we decided to watch TRON Legacy.

It was actually our first time watching in Walter Mart Cinemas. As we went in the movie theater, we were sad to have not started the very beginning of the movie. But if you think about it, we were in the kind of cinema where you can stay inside the movie house at the end of the movie and repeat the movie that you have just watched over and over again. It was way past a long time already since we can to this in the cinemas. Nowadays, you can only watch the movie once in our cinemas in Glorietta, Greenbelt, Podium, Trinoma, etc. Whether you came just in time to start the movie from the very beginning or you come in late and missed the starting credits. So we just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the movie even if we missed the start because we can watch the movie again afterwards.

After the movie was done, which was by the way... AWESOME!!! ;) Since we weren't really doing anything and we were just passing the time, we decided to watch the movie again from the very beginning, starting with the trailers. We even bought Taters Fries and Taters Iced Tea for our second act of the show. The funny thing was, as the movie started, little did we know that we only missed 5 minutes of the start of the movie. After that 5 minutes, we stood up and left the movie theater. We kept on laughing as we head out of the movie house. To think, we were even able to finish the snacks and drinks we bought for that 5 minutes in that movie. Hahaha :D

This was really one hell of a fun trip. Till' our next movie escapade.

Zaitoon

Fridays equates to lunch out! For today, we decided to try Zaitoon. This is the Indian Restaurant beside Alley Gator along Dela Rosa.

The place is clean and decent which can accomodate around 30 heads. You could smell the Indian aroma upon entering the restuarant. Even if you are not an Indian enthusiast don't worry cause the servers are accommodating in explaining their menu. If the servers do not succeed in luring your taste buds, there are Filipino budget meals as well to fill up your stomach.

The Filipino dishes looked delicious, but we were obidient customers and got their best sellers: Beef and Lamb Kubideh and Chicken Jujeh. Each dish is for 180php and it came with a HUGE serving of long grain rice and a juicy tomato. An order of Kubideh consisted of 2 pieces of chunky strips of meat. I thought one was beef and the other one was lamb, but both were already mixed together. As for the Jujeh, there were like around 4 pieces. If you are not that hungry, you could split one order. Both dishes were okay -- nothing special. Typical kebab with the garlic sauce to save the day. The iced tea was a winner! 25php for a big tall glass! Pwede!

All in all, the Zootoki experience was filling! It takes a carpenter-like appetite to finish one order. More of quantity over quality type. Next time I will try out their Filipino dishes and hopefully have a better experience.

8065 Bagnet @ Estrella St., Makati City

OCTOBER 26, 2010, TUESDAY...

As these food trippers came together for a short dinner out, we decided to try out the place that everybody has been talking about near our office in Makati. 8065 BAGNET. We were feeling very FilipinoISH in our taste buds that night so we had our dinner Ilocano style.

This is a look at their menu... :)

Here are their specialties: Bagnet, Kare Kare, Sisig, Spicy Ginataan, Curry, Binagoongan, Ensaladang Talong and Buko Pandan.

SISIG BAGNET

THE VERDICT: In a rating, we give 8065 Bagnet... *drum roll please :)* 4 STARS!!! :D
The food was utmost to excellent... DELICIOUS. The prices are on budget, not too expensive, not too shabby. The quantity and presentation of the food... TOUCHE. The service... Depends on how many people are dining in the restaurant and how many is dining in your group. If the place is packed and you came in full batallion with your friends, the quality of the service is a bit busy and slow. So you really need a whole lot of patience in waiting for your orders to arrive (does not suit very well when you are monstruously HUNGRY). But if the area is not jam packed with hungry and staving humanoids, the service is pretty much a-ok.

Why don't you try a very native, Filipino foodtrip.

House of Lasagna

Just like what the name implied, the place had a homey feel. It could fit around 20 heads on its wooden tables and chairs. Since this was the house of LASAGNA, I tried their Chef’s special – Seafood Lasagna for 220php. The freshly baked pasta came with 2pcs. of home-made garlic bread. You know it just came out of the oven because the platter was placed on top of the chopping board was HOT, so proceed with caution. The pasta was cooked Al Dente and it was SO creamy! As in the cheese was oozing out! The bits of squid, shrimps and muscles were distinctive along with the herbs. The serving was filling. But wait, there's more! The waiter gave us a basket of garlic bread on the house! It was perfect to wipe of the creamy sauce.

Seafood Lasagna

All in all, it was a pleasant experience. I would go back and try their Beef Lasagna and Lengua Pastel. So if you are craving for some good comfort pasta, head down to Jose Abad Santos, San Juan. This is one of the restaurants aligned with NY Pizza, BQ, Serenitea and Country Chicken. Thus, it would be good if you come in early or during weird hours since parking is limited.

Wingman @ The Collective

OCTOBER 12, 2010, TUESDAY...

Last night, as we were thinking of a place to eat dinner, one of us suggested this place in Makati. The restaurant is called WINGMAN. It is located at 'The Collective' in Malugay St. in Makati (the area was where the car shops were located before, if you were a car enthusiast you'd definitely know this place).

Here they serve Burgers, Fries, Beers, Cocktails, Desserts and of course Buffalo WINGS! (That's why the place is called as such!) We tried out their Burgers and Buffalo Wings. We had an order of the Sliders Burger (which was 3 small cut burgers in different kinds so we can get to taste a little of each kind in one order hehehe :p) with their so-called Twister Fries on the side. The kinds of burgers we got to taste were the Classic Cheeseburger, Wingman Burger and the Cowboy Cheeseburger (Burger topped with Bacon, Onions and Cheese).

They also have their so-called Chimichurri Burger which is up for a taste test the next time we pay this restaurant a visit.

We also tried the different French Fry cuts that they serve namely, Twister Fries, Shoestring Fries, Potato Wedges, etc. Not bad for a basket plate full of Fries with your Burger.

Of course, we wouldn't forget to get us an order of the Apocalyptic Buffalo Chicken Wings (has a nice ring to it, APOCALYPTIC ;)) We tried out the spicy and not-so spicy wings that they have on the menu, with Blue Cheese Dressing on the side (this Dressing is to die for hehehe :p).

THE VERDICT: Their Burgers were really good and worth it for the price you pay. The Burgers were really big and meaty. The best kind of Burger that we've tried was the Wingman Burger. It had a different, tangy taste, you'd wish you'd have that big of an appetite to devour a whole lot of Burgers. As for the Buffalo Wings, they are fairingly good, with the Blue Cheese on the side, it actually did the trick. But it can still be better. The Wings were big in proportions and they were served in a good number in a basket plate.

To add to the succulent menu they had, we were really curious about their dessert menu. These were the desserts that got our eyes glued on the menu, CocaCola Pie and Deep Fried Snickers Bar. The name itself already got you thinking of what it looks like and how good it tastes. We didn't really get to taste these fine desserts because we were already full from our Burgers and Buffalo Wings meal. It's still not too late to get to try them at the very least. Next time, these desserts will be vindicated.

Up for a nice place to hit to just chill in to drink and when you're hungry? Try WINGMAN for a change and experience their good food and cool hangout place. Good food, drinks, desserts to hangout and chill with your friends, this is the place to be. Try it. :)
